Fast forward to September 2020. The Abraham Accords were signed, marking a new era or regional collaboration.
And for Aravrit? A new world of possibilities.
Last week I got the chance to see the 13 meters sculpture in Dubai.
Surreal
Moving
Mind blowing
It was so unrealistic that I didn’t really think it’s going to happen Almost three years ago, I was asked to design hopeful words to be displayed in Dubai and represent Israel at Expo 2020.
Back then, Israel and Dubai didn’t have diplomatic relations. UAE is a place that I’ve heard is impressive. However, I knew that I would never get to set afoot there with my Israeli passport.
Sure, I’m an optimistic person, so I thought that even if this project did come to fruition, it was not something I could see with my own eyes.
Designing for hope, but not daring to think about peace
I designed the words ‘Towards Tomorrow’ and my role was done. I didn’t hear back, nor thought of following up.
