The Ethical Path

A new word in Aravrit, as it turns to be, goes through a long and winding road.
The decision to go on the ethical, fair trade route with the Aravrit hug T-Shirts started a few years ago, just when the dream to create T-shirts become real. I was trying to find some places to manufacture the planned shirts and stumbled upon an Israeli documentary on the global fast fashion industry. ⠀
It was one hour I’ll never forget. I was shocked by the information and it hit me hard because ethical fashion wasn’t something I mulled over before. ⠀
An idea is popping up
It was a decision that came from the gut: this is going to be Aravrit’s way. I worked effortlessly to make sure that the hug T-shirts are going to be manufactured ethically and have the fair trade monitoring of The Fair Wear Foundation.
I am proud of being able to support other small, family-owned businesses and artisans in our manufacturing process. Ensuring that their rights to safe, dignified, and properly paid employment are kept.
Although manufacturing costs increased, I believe it’s a small price to pay for knowing that we are supporting people in this process.

First rough sketches
The T-Shirts are made by the highest standards without compromising on the styles and cut. Later, they are being printed, stitched, and ironed by real people with ideas and dreams.
I would like to acknowledge and thank our amazing collaborators for their involvement in making the hug T-shirts as beautiful as they are. David, Svetlana and Maria: it was a true pleasure working with you, once again.

Going digital
eedless to say, the past couple of months have been challenging for all businesses. The stories of how a small business can survive in the COVID-19 era are overlapping and shared by all of us.
Just like them, Aravrit is a small business with big hopes for the world.
By choosing to wear an Aravrit hug shirt, the effect grows:
- You are showing that you are embracing human connections right now.
- You are showing that life together can be achieved.
- You are setting an example for our responsibility to purchase ethical products.
Our decisions make a difference.
